Jeep presented at the IAA Motor Show (15 to 25 September 2011) the SRT8 Grand Cherokee. The high-performance variant is celebrating its European premiere in Frankfurt. The SUV is powered by a new, 470-hp 6.4-liter V8 engine. For comparison: the offered until early 2011 version of the Grand Cherokee SRT8 had a 426-horsepower V8 with 6.0 liters displacement.


From zero to 100 km / h in 4.8 seconds
With the new engine, the car is the strongest and fastest Jeep ever. The maximum torque of the new Hemi powerplant is 630 Newton meters. 90 percent of which are 2800-6000 rpm / directory. From zero to 100 km / h, the car comes in 4.8 seconds, top speed is 255 km / h. Jeep is also the stopping distance for the stop of 100 km / h to standstill: 35 meters. The SRT8 model has an electronically controlled spring-damper system. Jeep calls the consumer does not, but the old model was at 16.1 liters per 100 kilometers, just not economical. Among the fuel-saving technologies include a new cylinder deactivation and a valve-controlled active exhaust system.

Lowered Body Profile
Jeep also underlines the lowered body profile, the racing-inspired interior and the SRT-exclusive steering wheel with shift paddles out. Available is the Grand Cherokee SRT8 from the first quarter of 2012. In Europe, the model is only with complete facilities available. These include a glass sunroof, a navigation system, cruise control and a Totwinkelassistent a distance. The prices are not yet known, but for the previous one had to pay € 66 490.
