The steel friction rings with its wave-shaped outer contour are perforated and connected by pins to the aluminum brake discs - this design reduces tensions, dissipates the heat quickly and prevents the transfer of temperature spikes. Furthermore, the newly designed shape of the friction rings leads to a weight reduction of total zirca three kilograms and thus improves the balance of the unsprung masses.
